A beautiful late 19th Century silver locket featuring an incredibly detailed hand painted ceramic portrait of a shepherdess perched next to her sheep.

The portrait is framed by seed pearls with an enamelled bow top. On the reverse the pendant features a glass framed locket that fastens securely.

The pendant is not hallmarked but most likely French based on the style of painting and the design of the locket. 

The locket is in good antique condition.
