This beautiful antique Victorian Gold and Sterling Silver Forget me not locket is Circa 1900.

The wonderful locket is beautifully engraved and boasts a fabulous centre piece of Gold Forget me nots.

‘Forget-me-not, O Lord!’ is what a poor German knight shouted as he fell into a river. He and his lady were picking flowers by the side of the river at the time when the poor knight suddenly fell in and sank to the bottom. Upon his cries to the Lord, he threw the blue posy of flowers to his loved one. Hence, the concept of remembrance, eternal love and faithfulness grow from this.

The inside of the locket is lined with lovely violet material with original rims and windows in place.

The piece is complete with Sterling Silver hallmarks and displays pristine Victorian workmanship of it’s time.

This locket is perfect to display your own photograph or piece of history in and would look lovely displayed on a Silver chain!
