Pair of lovely Nubian Silver Hoop Earrings, though very similar ones are also worn as nose rings. This earrings have been converted from their original state by adding small discs with a clip on mechanism from which the original earrings hang. In the old days, these earrings were put through the ear hole. This amendment is an old one and has been done with good taste such that you can't really tell that it was a later addition. Unmarked but made of good silver. You can see a similar pair in Azza Fahmy's book the Enchanted Jewelry of Egypt. Please note that there is a slight variation between the two earrings.

They dangle 9.5 cm (3 3/4"). They are 6 cm (2 1/4") in diameter and weigh 22.6 grams.
